Every time I visit Colorado Springs, I try to make time for RMANWR. This place has an incredible history which is worth reading into. It’s one of the most impressive examples of a Superfund site, and an incredible restoration success story going from crazy contaminated chemical production and storage to bison habitat.

If you follow the 11 mile wildlife drive, you can see a prairie dog town, tons of birds, and maybe even catch the bison herd. Near the beginning of the park, there is a beautiful wetland to check out as well.
